Finding information on Christopher Nolan's Interstellar is tough. One of our number spent so long trying to figure the film out that he went quite mad and now sits scribbling anagrams of Nolan's full name that he maintains are clues, producing cryptic partial results like "Spaceman Rajahs Retool Ninth John" or "Spaceman Area Hints John Horn Jolt". But for those of you still in possession of your senses, the November issue of Empire , now on shelves, holds all the answers you could possibly want but no spoilers that you don't. Our Dan Jolin visited the film's set and spent quality time with Nolan and his cast to learn everything there is to know about the film. Even if space jams aren't your thing, however, there's something in this month's issue for you, as Benedict Cumberbatch endures the inquisition that is our Big Interview and the full cast of The West Wing talk us through the show's history and, as they say, much much more. Make sure to pick it up now and settle in for some fascinating long reads.

Interstellar: On Set And Out Of This World
Inside Christopher Nolan's science-fiction masterpiece
Inside you will find Nolan and his cast giving the best indication yet of what we can expect from his secrecy-shrouded science fiction effort. Says Nolan, "It's a very classically constructed movie, but the freshness of the narrative elements really enhance it. I liken it to the blockbusters I grew up with as a kid, family films in the best sense: edgy, incisive, challenging."

Also in the issue we look at Mike Leigh's much-praised Mr Turner and talk to his star, Timothy Spall; visit Brad Pitt and company on set of Fury and take a look at the films that inspired Nolan's Interstellar. Benedict Cumberbatch is the subject of our Big Interview, explaining why David Bowie prompted him to consider retirement. And then there's James Dyer's oral history of The West Wing, reuniting cast and crew to chronicle one of the greatest TV shows of all time. Click here for a full preview.

The 50 Greatest Voice Performances In Movies
The voice artist walks a hard path. They're not in control of their characters' facial expressions or body language - heck, their character may have neither " and they depend purely on speech to communicate a whole mess of information, emotion and impact. Here, we have assembled 50 of the very best voice turns in English for your consideration. We have excluded those whose performance was entirely or largely performance captured - Mr Serkis, we'll need another feature to consider your work - to focus on those for whom the voice itself was the thing. Read on, and tell us who you'd like to add...

The Future Of Film: The Streaming Services Will Be Major Studios
Back in 2000, Blockbuster passed up the chance to buy a fledging movie subscription concern based in small-town California for $50 million. It was a catastrophic error. These days Blockbuster barely exists, while Netflix is a world-conquering on-demand viewing platform with north of 50 million subscribers globally. To put another way, that's one customer for every dollar Blockbuster didn't spend. Riding the quickly shifting industry wave from postal DVD rentals to online streaming, Netflix has now moved into production, reviving Arrested Development, creating Orange Is The New Black, Marco Polo and the Wachowskis' Sense8, reimagining the BBC's House of Cards, and entering into business with Marvel for four interconnected series centred on Marvel's Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Daredevil.

    Denzel Washington: A Viewer's Guide
Working in the industry for more than 35 years, Denzel Washington has established himself as a go-to guy for charming everymen, impossibly tough guys and noble warriors. A double Oscar winner, he was an action star long before the likes of Liam Neeson saw it as a career path and has enjoyed multiple collaborations with filmmakers from Spike Lee and Tony Scott. From Glory to The Siege, Philadelphia to The Preacher's Wife, he brings the Washington stamp of quality to every film, even if they don't all deserve it. He's back this week working with his Training Day director Antoine Fuqua on The Equalizer, so the time is right for a sprint through his better films and one you're better off skipping.

25 Movie Songs Bigger Than The Movie
Not every film song is a classic. For every monster hit like (shudder) 'My Heart Will Go On' from Titanic, there are endless tunes like Josh Groban's 'Remember ' from Troy which are, ironically, easy to forget. Even the Oscars isn't that helpful a guide; in 2011, just two songs got nominated for an Academy Award. But sometimes, Hollywood stumbles onto a real tune, and in an even smaller number of cases that song transcends the film that provided its start. In tribute to these rare creatures, we've gathered together 25 songs that became far bigger than the film they appeared in. You will no doubt be outraged at what's been excluded or included, so let us know what we missed or got wrong in the comments section below.

Steven Spielberg: Birth Of A Legend
In 1989, Steven Spielberg directed two feature films - Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade and Always - in the same calendar year. Four years later, he pulled off the same trick again to even more astonishing ends with Jurassic Park and Schindler's List. The critical consensus as to why Spielberg could work so quickly and effectively pointed to his experiences with George Lucas on Raiders Of The Lost Ark or just the burning passion that infused Schindler. But longtime producer and friend Kathleen Kennedy has other ideas.

Screen To Stage: The Hobbit Stars
Usually when I've written these Screen To Stage blogs, I've been trying to compare a film to its stage adaptation. This time, I'm doing something a little different. This summer sees Martin Freeman play Richard III at the Trafalgar Studios, and Richard Armitage star in The Crucible at the Old Vic. So how did the Hobbit stars fare in their roles, and compared to one another?
