It has arrived. After a year of agony in the writing, buckets of blood in the editing and a full-on torture porn endurance trial in the designing, Empire's 666 Greatest Horror Characters list is alive, aaalliiiiiiiiveeee . Featuring heroic survivors, chainsaw-wielding nutjobs, flesh-eating cannibals and full-on movie monsters, this should be your first stop this Halloween for all your horror needs. Take a look if only to stop our Chris saying, over and over, "Do you see? DO YOU SEE?" in the manner of #31. Elsewhere this week, we have come up with an essential Star Wars Episode VII title generator, assembled the videos you need to watch before you see Thor: The Dark World next week, and broken down the trailers for Anchorman: The Legend Continues and Captain America: The Winter Soldier . Frankly, we're all lying broken on the floor gasping with fatigue, but as long as you have fun it will all be worthwhile.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Trailer Is Online
The leaves are falling, the weather is getting colder, and here is the trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier to put the final nail in summer's coffin. Yes, the Avengers leader is back and this time he's caught in between his conscience and his duty as S.H.I.E.L.D. and big cheese Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford) try to find a role for their super-soldier.

The 666 Greatest Horror Characters Of All Time
Last year, you may recall, we asked you for your votes as we embarked upon the most terrifying - on any number of levels - feature in our history. The votes came in, we started work on a bogstandard 50 Greatest Characters list and then we asked ourselves: what would Damien Thorn do? Surely he would do something grander, more diabolical. And so, after a year of compiling, here it is, the 666 greatest horror movie characters, as voted for by Team Empire and you. It's filled with masked maniacs, Final Girls, ghouls, goblins, witches, zombies, vampires, werewolves, nerdy heroes, stalkers, slashers, monsters, monster hunters, demons, devils, deadly dolls and Warwick Davis. Enjoy... if you dare! (maniacal laughter, flash of lightning, repeat to fade).

    The Empire Podcast 84
There's a killer triple-bill of interviewees on this week's Empire Podcast, with Harrison Ford, Stephen Merchant and Shane Meadows all stopping by, one for Ender's Game, one for Hello Ladies and the other for Made Of Stone's DVD release (we'll let you work out which matches up with which). Elsewhere, the team talk witches, almost perfect film endings and what Sir Ben Kingsley is keeping under his hat, not forgetting reviews of all the week's big releases, as well as in-depth discussions about washing machines in horror movies.

22 Things We Learned From The Captain America: The Winter Soldier Trailer
It's a Marvelous time to be a comic book movie fan right now. Thor: The Dark World is out on Wednesday in the UK, and Marvel are capitalising on the attendant buzz by releasing the first trailer for their next movie: Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The second solo outing for Chris Evans' supersoldier Steve Rogers, it's a modern-day blend of political intrigue, assassins and paranoia - think Three Days Of The Condor with giant explosions and men in masks - and it looks simply cracking. Here, we single out 22 noteworthy things from the latest slice of Phase 2 madness, but be warned, spoiler-avoiders, there may be some details in here you may not want to know just yet...

Adam McKay's Amazing Anchorman 2 Trailer Breakdown Part II: The Sequel!
Hot pot of coffee! Sweet, sweet vinegar and bacon! In less than two months, Ron Burgundy and his news team will be back on the big screen in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, the most eagerly-anticipated comedy sequel since Three Men And A Little Lady. Yesterday saw the launch of not one but TWO final trailers for the movie, with an international trailer introducing us to Brian Fantana's jimmy cabinet and the domestic version showcasing a heart-rending eulogy for Brick Tamland... by Brick Tamland. Needless to say, we were all over this like Baxter on a wheel of cheese, so got Anchorman co-writer/director Adam McKay on the transatlantic blower and asked him to take us through the key moments of the international trailer. Take us to Pleasuretown, Mr McKay!

16 Videos Every Thor Fan Should Have Watched By Now
Watch a YouTube video featuring Tom Hiddleston and you'll probably notice the phrase "MY OVARIES JUST EXPLODED" somewhere in the comment section. The same can be said of the many Chris Hemsworth clips on the popular video-sharing website, though perhaps not quite as frequently (sorry Chris). Now while some of these may be for fans only, many are genuinely worth watching, whether you're a Hiddlestoner or Hemsworthian or none of the above. So here we've assembled the very crème de la crème, bringing in other gems from fellow Thor cast members, including Natalie Portman and Idris Elba. Still, be sure to carefully monitor your ovaries throughout this feature, just in case.

Vote For The Greatest Video Games Of All Time
With not one but two new consoles being released in November, the current games generation is gradually drawing to a close. What better time, then, to cast a rose-tinted eye back over the years of games gone by and pluck out those special few that have shaped us all as gamers. Recall those memories of burning the midnight oil as you took down Ragnaros in World of Warcraft, acquired those final stars in Super Mario World or mastered that ten-hit combo in Tekken. Relive the glory of confronting Sephiroth, saving Princess Zelda or pulling off your very first Tetris. Think very hard and nominate your top five choices for Empire's list of the greatest video games of all time.

Star Wars Episode VII Title Generator
Throw aside your crystal ball and cast off your tarot cards! We have found the title to Episode VII. JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan may still be writing it, but the answer is bound to be among the thousands of options here, cunningly culled from the Star Wars franchise, the 1930s serials on which it was based and a few other related ventures. Click, and see if you can find the right story for Episode VII...

How To Make A Mint From Movie Posters
Making a killing isn't easy, as we know from such films as The Killing. You're statistically more likely to be run over by a unicorn-drawn pumpkin than win the lottery, there aren't enough hedge funds for everyone and the Walter White approach is fraught with perils. Collecting movie posters may not have you stocking your crawl space with bankrolls, but there are canny investments to be made for those with an eye for an opportunity. In 2005, for instance, a single Metropolis poster went for a record-breaking $690,000 . The buyer? Rumour has it, Leonardo DiCaprio. We asked Caitlin Graham, Specialist in Pop Culture at auction house Christie's, to share some tips for getting Leo's attention.

Ender's Game: Ben Kingsley, Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld & Gavin Hood Interviews
Ender's Game is a book that has long been considered unfilmable - that is, until now. The story of a young boy groomed to become a military leader capable of defeating Earth's great enemy is actually a relatively subtle one, and we asked the cast and director Gavin Hood to explain how they approached it.

James Corden Talks One Chance (And Into The Woods)
James Corden is charm personified in our One Chance video interview, discussing the finer points of playing a nerdy opera lover on screen, and generously indulging's Empire's Into The Woods inquisitiveness (he'll appear as The Baker in Rob Marshall's star-studded Stephen Sondheim musical adaptation next year). So for musical geek chat aplenty and a surprisingly amount of miming, you know where to click play.

    Empire's X-Files Celebration
Nine years, 202 episodes, a host of indelible characters, about six thousand packets of Morleys and some deeply sinister goings-on, The X-Files is a show worth celebrating - and celebrate it is what we've done. And then some. We put tape on the windows of Empire HQ and waited for its leading lights to emerge from the shadows. Chris Carter... Walter Skinner... Smoking Man... Mulder and Scully... Krycek... they all joined us for our X-travanganza. The truth is out there? Pah. It's right here.

    PlayStation 4: Launch Preview
In the race for next generation console dominence, it's hard to find fault with Sony's PlayStation 4 launch campaign so far. A low price of £349 RRP coupled with assurances of user privacy, no restrictions on pre-owned rights, and an open platform for developers to publish their games has done wonders for winning over audiences.

The Jameson Empire Done In 60 Seconds Ironman Challenge!
Given that 2014 will be Empire's 25th anniversary year, we felt it was appropriate to pick a movie from the year of our inception: 1989 - so not Inception, then. We thought about Batman, we pondered Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, we almost went for Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure before realising it was made on the budget of a DISS movie anyway. Then it hit us, the perfect choice. Something we have all experienced, albeit in slightly less posh surroundings: school. So start channelling your best Peter Weir, brush up on your Walt Whitman, dust down your sixth form blazer, put a call through to your old alma mater for your location shoot, and track down your perfect Knox Overstreet, for it is time to seize the day! Oh captain, my captain, this year's Done In Sixty Seconds 'IRONMAN' Challenge movie is DEAD POETS SOCIETY.

    The 100 Sexiest Movie Stars
You voted in your tens of thousands and here, at last, are the results, the Sexiest Movie Stars of 2013. And frankly we think it's a darn good list, a list that shows you guys are discerning in your tastes and able to look beyond mere spectacular good looks to spot the stars who have that extra attractiveness within. Check out the list and see if your favourites made the cut.

A Halloween Blu-ray. If only this were seasonally appropriate in some way!

Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor has a very old-fashioned phone.

Tom Hiddleston does a great Laurence Olivier to go with his great Anthony Hopkins impression.

Pop Idol's Darius looks like Cary Grant in the new From Here To Eternity musical.

Fan fic, and slash fic, about Iron Man, Captain America and Hulk is known as Stark Spangled Banner. Whatever the content, that's genius.

Your CV needs work. This is the new standard.

An American Horror Story cake to accompany the release of the second season on Blu-ray and DVD. Luckily, it was chocolate and not blood flavour.

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2

Loveable - especially if you're as fond of a pun as we are - and extremely silly.

    Thor: The Dark World

As confident and assured as its lead character, Marvel's great run continues. We give this Thor out of Thive. (Sorry.)

    World War Z

This nightmarish travelogue is coy about gore, but it's still an effective thrill-ride. If the sequel happens, let's hope it delivers some actual combat.
