This Week...
If you're feeling a little down what with all the rain and the creeping sensation that summer is officially over, take heart! For one, it's a Bank Holiday weekend so you get a glorious extra day to loaf about and do very little. For another, there's a new issue of Empire on newsstands and it's a rather good'un. We get our sleuth on with Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows, keep it on for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and then report on the results with Tintin in the Winter Preview. Then there's Hugh Jackman talking Real Steel and being the world's most perfect man (presumably), Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman experiencing a body-swap interview (high concept!), Jesse Eisenberg being self-effacing as ever and much, much more. Get it while it's hot.

Exclusive Trailer: Jurassic Park Is Back On The Big Screen
Have you noticed trembling ripples in water glasses sitting nearby? Is that giant electric fence you installed suddenly and mysteriously not working? Have any local goats gone missing, only to turn up as bloodied remains? Can you see Jeff Goldblum anywhere nearby? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, then we have an explanation. Jurassic Park – yes, the original 1993 chunk of dino-goodness – is headed back into UK cinemas on September 23. And we have an exclusive trailer for you, which you can watch after the link.

    Festival Report: Frightfest 2011
This week, Robert Hamer's Kind Hearts And Coronets is getting a quick cinema re-release before coming out in gussied-up Blu-ray form. The film, starring Dennis Price, Valerie Hobson, Joan Greenwood, Alec Guinness, Alec Guinness, Alec Guinness, Alec Guinness, Alec Guinness, Alec Guinness, Alec Guinness and Alec Guinness, is (for my money) the greatest Ealing comedy ever and a strong contender for best British film ever made. It is also, I'm arguing here, the greatest black comedy ever made.

The Most Outrageously Macho Movies Ever Made
With the release of the big, muscly Conan The Barbarian this week, we thought we'd take a mosey back through some of the most insanely testosterone-filled movies in cinema history. These are the films that would punch your lights out soon as look at you, then seduce your sister will puffing on a cheroot and carrying a mini-gun in the other hand. These are man's films, and they will make every man in the land (with the possible exception of The Rock) feel a tiny bit inadequate. Welcome to macho movies…

Gallery: 36 Actors Playing Younger Roles
In the Inbetweeners Movie, the four lads are all meant to be 18. The thing is, the actors playing them definitely aren't: James Buckley (Jay) is 24, Simon Bird (Will) is 26, Blake Harrison (Neil) is also 26 and Joe Thomas (Simon) is 27. Sure, with James it's only a six-year age gap, but with Joe, that's a nine-year difference we're talking about. Still, it's nothing out of the ordinary in Hollywood, as this worryingly long list shows...

Empire Meets The Final Destination 5 Crew
This week, Final Destination 5 comes out in cinemas. That's right, the fifth Final Destination movie. After nearly 30 deaths, from sharpened fences slicing people in three (!) and swimming pool cleaners sucking victim's bellies out, here we are with yet more inventively deathy deaths. Bloody fate, killing everyone. Someone should really have a word with that guy. Anyway, when our resident LA superjourno James White was invited down to meet the cast, we couldn't say no – if only to find out how these guys plan on story-topping four movies' worth of extremely creative expirations...

Hathaway, Sturgess & Scherfig On One Day
The book has been massively, hugely successful, proving one of the biggest literary hits of the last few years. And now One Day is hitting our screens, with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess playing the friends / lovers whose lives run together for nearly two decades. Playing Emma and Dexter from graduation into full adulthood, the pair had their work cut out to please the book's many, many fans - so we asked them about their approach, and talked to director Lone Scherfig about her priorities in bringing this to the screen...

Vincent Cassel On Our Day Will Come
Who doesn't love Vincent Cassel? Seriously, the man isn't just a little bit cool, he actually embodies the whole concept. Need proof? When Empire meet him he made a summer scarf look like the last word in bad-ass - definitely not something an amateur could pull off. Between his garland-winning turn in Black Swan and his likely-to-be-acclaimed performance in David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method, he's brought that Gallic swagger to Our Day Will Come. Directed by Romain 'son of Costas' Gavras, it's a curio that Cassel threw himself into with passion. Here's what he had to tell us about it.

Since 2004, World of Warcraft has been played for a total of 50 billion hours, or 5.93 million years. Humans have spent as long playing World of Warcraft as they have existed as a separate species from chimpanzees.

    The Skin I Live In

Not for everyone — there will be heated debate about at least one plot turn — but high-level filmmaking. The year's classiest horror movie.
