The new issue of Empire is now on sale, and it's thunderingly good (sorry). Our Thor: The Dark World covers have already caused a stir online, so if you're after a Loki cover in particular we recommend that you get your hands on a copy as soon as possible before the Hiddlestoners buy the lot. Elsewhere in the issue, we look at Martin Scorsese's The Wolf Of Wall Street, talk to Naomi Watts about her career to date, visit the set of Ender's Game and have Richard Curtis and Domhnall Gleeson talk us through About Time - as well as a huge Anchorman preview and much more. Basically, it is burdened with glorious content. Get after it.

Venice 2013: Gravity Is Out Of This World
Tradition is a big part of the Venice Film Festival. It's tradition that nothing ever works or is open when you get here, to probably the most expensive of the calendar's main film events. This year there was a new twist, in that anything that previously worked was changed or dispensed with altogether, but what one can usually rely on is the quality of the films. This year, even that has taken a battering, with many of the autumn's heavy hitters - notably Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave - going straight to Toronto, which begins next week. But there is one more tradition that may yet be the saving grace of this year's edition.

    50 Movie Sibling Rivalries
With Thor: The Dark World approaching its release and the warring siblings Thor and Loki adorning this month's Empire cover, it seemed like a good time to take a look at other sibling rivalries in cinema history. These family feuds run the gamut from murderous to mawkish, in everything from broad comedy to (of course) Shakespearean drama. Read on to see if you can spot your family-alikes in this selection, and choose the sibling you're inclined to side with...

The Empire Podcast #76: Jim Rash, Nat Faxon, Shane Carruth
You may know him as Community's Dean Pelton, but in real life he's Jim Rash, the man who co-wrote The Descendants with Nat Faxon and won an Oscar in the process. The award-winning pair were in the Empire Podcast booth this week to chat about their directorial debut, The Way, Way Back, but also managed to talk about the final episode of Friends - no, really - and how it feels to dress up as Lady Gaga. Elsewhere, super-indie melon-twister extraordinaire Shane Carruth, who previously brought us time-travelling brain-melter Primer, came in to explain (or not explain) his latest puzzler, Upstream Colour. Top tip: the film has something to do with pigs (though it's not abundantly clear what that something is).

Empire's The World's End Spoiler Podcast Special
The last lick of the Cornetto trilogy, The World's End, has finally arrived in US cinemas, which heralds the arrival of another Empire Podcast Spoiler Special, where the team talk through their favourite moments from the film in spoilerific detail, all capped off with an in-depth 20-minute interview with Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost themselves (which starts at 35.08). How's that for a slice of fried gold?

The Way Way Back Cast & Directors On Their Coming-Of-Age Comedy
A charming indie film set in and around a water park during a summer vacation, The Way Way Back is the directorial debut of The Descendants screenwrters Jim Rash and Nat Faxon. We spoke to both directors and stars Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph, AnnaSophia Robb and Liam James about water pistols, dancing and more...

    Brian De Palma Q&A
Though he's been making movies now for 45 years, Brian De Palma still keeps up to date with pop-culture and the latest tech. When he agrees to talk to Empire about new thriller Passion from his home in New York, he suggests doing it over Skype (sadly, at no point does the window go split-screen to reveal a knife-wielding John Lithgow), and the freewheeling chat that ensues touches on subjects as diverse as Inception, viral videos and Mad Men, a show he thinks is "getting a little tired". For all that and a lot more, read on...

Exclusive Preview Of Tim Leong's Super Graphic Book
Ever wondered how the X-jet measures up against the Quinjet? Or which superheroes wear their underwear on the outside? Well wonder no more! A new book, Super Graphic: A Visual Guide To The Comic Book Universe (out in the UK on September 1 from Chronicle Books) answers all these questions and more - and here is an exclusive extract to get you started...

Spotify Playlist: Now That's What I Call... Edgar Wright!
As anyone who's read our 'Edgar Wright on the music of The World's End' feature or enjoyed the man himself guiding us through his favourite pop songs in the entirety of cinema will tell you, this is a movie director who knows his pop music onions (which are probably green). So in honour of his record collection and his ear for a good 'choon', here is our special Edgar Wright Spotify playlist, boasting the choicest of tracks from all his film endeavours (and a little show called Spaced). Hear also: Now That's What I Call... Quentin Tarantino! and our Soundtracks That Defined A Decade Spotify playlists.

The Movie Poster Mashups: Superman Vs. Batman Edition
With Superman and Batman set to share cinema screens come 2015 - and Detroit in 2014 - it was only a matter of time before out Movie Poster Masher-Uppers got their Photoshopping fangs into The World's Finest. Here then is a peek into what kind of world we might see in Snyder's bat-filled super sequel, according to some pun obsessives who live to make you giggle.

The Big Movie Quote Quiz Strikes Back!
It is a dark time for movie lovers. Although you may have conquered the previous quizzes, Empire's Big Movie Quote Quiz is back. You're going to need to establish a new base of movie knowledge to conquer all 90 of these quotes. The evil quizmasters of Empire, obsessed with finding new challenges for you, have dispatched thousands of remote probes into the far reaches of space and brought back some tough lines to identify.

50 Movie Supercars You Could Own (But Probably Can't Afford)
Fantasy movie cars are all very well - your Chitty Chitty Bang Bangs and your Benny the Cabs - but if you're a real movie enthusiast you probably want a film car you can actually own. Well, here's your lucky day! We've assembled 50 of the most ludicrously cool, ridiculously fast movie motors out there in one easy spot so you can plan your shopping list (once you win the lottery) and even highlighted the dangerous pitfalls to avoid in your ownership of each one...
